Dua of Prophet Adam (AS)
Dua for Forgiveness
When Adam (AS) and Hawwa (AS) disobeyed Allah by eating from the forbidden tree, they immediately repented with this heartfelt dua, showing humility, remorse, and recognition of Allah’s mercy.

(Surah Al-A’raf 7:23)
Duas of Prophet Nuh (AS)
Dua for Help during Difficult Times
When the opposition of his people became overwhelming, Nuh (AS) turned to Allah, admitting his weakness and asking for divine help. This dua reflects total reliance on Allah’s power when human means were exhausted.

(Surah Qamar Ayat 10)
Dua for seeking Refuge and Forgiveness
After asking Allah about saving his son from the flood, Allah reminded Nuh (AS) that his son was not among the righteous. Nuh (AS) immediately sought forgiveness, showing submission and repentance.

(Surah Hud Ayat 47)
Dua for Traveling
After the flood, when the ark settled and the waters began to recede, Prophet Nuh (AS) made this dua, asking Allah for a safe and blessed place to disembark. It reflects gratitude, humility, and reliance on Allah after deliverance from a great trial.
Rabbi anzilnee munzalam mubaarakanw wa Anta khairul munzileen
“My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].”
(Surah Al-Mu’minun Ayat 29)
Dua for Adversity
After tirelessly calling his people to Allah for centuries, Prophet Nuh (AS) faced persistent rejection, ridicule, and denial from his community. In this moment of despair, he turned to Allah alone for support and vindication, showing that true help comes only from the Creator when human efforts are exhausted.
Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon
“My Lord, support me because they have denied me.”
(Surah Al-Mu’minun Ayat 26)
Dua for Forgiveness for Self and Parents
After warning his people and being rejected, Nuh (AS) turned to Allah, asking for forgiveness for himself and the believers, showing the importance of including others in one’s prayers.

“My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.”
(Surah Nuh Ayat 28)
Duas of Prophet Ibrahim (AS)
Dua for Forgiveness for Self, Parents and Believers
Prophet Ibrahim (AS) sought Allah’s mercy for himself, his parents, and all believers, teaching that one’s concern in dua should extend beyond personal needs to the wider community or Ummah of believers.
Rabbanagh fir lee wa liwaalidaiya wa lilmu'mineena Yawma yaqoomul hisaab
“Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.”
(Surah Ibrahim Ayat 41)
Dua for Security and Prosperity of Community
Concerned for the sustenance of his family and community in the barren valley of Makkah, Ibrahim (AS) made dua and sought both worldly protection and provision for its land and people. A powerful dua that Allah answered as today Makkah has peace, stability and prosperity, especially when compared to its barren days during the times of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Rabbij 'al haadhaa baladan aaminanw warzuq ahlahoo minath thamaraati man aamana minhum billaahi wal yawmil aakhiri
“My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits – whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day.”
(Surah Baqarah Ayat 126)
Dua for Security of Community and for Descendants
When Prophet Ibrahim (AS) returned to Makkah and found it an established, prosperous city, he prayed for its security and, more importantly, for protection from idol worship for himself and his children. His dua reflects foresight: recognizing that prosperity often leads people to arrogance, forgetfulness of Allah, and deviation from faith.
Rabbij ‘al haazal balada aaminanw wajnubnee wa baniyya an na’budal asnaam
“My Lord, make this city [Makkah] secure and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.”
(Surah Ibrahim Ayat 35)
Dua for Wisdom and Righteous Company or Friendship
This supplication of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) shows his concern for both his life and legacy. He asked Allah for wisdom and knowledge, to be counted among the righteous, to be remembered with honor by future generations, and ultimately to be granted Paradise. The request to be joined with the righteous can also be understood as a desire for righteous company in this world—friends, companions, and a community that strengthens one’s faith—since good company is a safeguard against misguidance. This dua reflects Ibrahim’s foresight in seeking both personal piety and lasting impact that inspires others to righteousness long after his time.
Rabbi hab lee hukman wa-alhiqnee bis–saaliheen. Waj’al lee lisaana sidqin fil-aakhireen.Waj’alnee min warathati jannatin-na’eem
“My Lord! Grant me wisdom and join me with the righteous. And grant me an honorable mention among the later generations. And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight.”
(Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:83–85)
Dua to Remain Steadfast in Prayer and for Children as well
In this heartfelt prayer, Prophet Ibrahim (AS) asked Allah for three profound blessings: to remain steadfast in establishing salah, that his offspring also uphold salah, and that his duas be accepted. This teaches us the importance of safeguarding our connection with Allah through prayer, making dua not only for ourselves but also for our children—even before they are born—and recognizing that dua itself is an act of worship. Just as we seek our salah to be accepted, we also ask Allah to accept our supplications, knowing that the act of turning to Him is itself a form of devotion.
*Even if you don’t yet have children, you can still make this dua for your future descendants.
Rabbi Aj`alnī Muqīma ş-Şalāati Wa Min Dhurrīyatī Rabbanā Wa Taqabbal Du`ā'i
“My Lord! Make me an establisher (of) the prayer and from my offsprings Our Lord! and accept my prayer”
(Surah Ibrahim Ayat 40)
Dua for a Righteous Child
Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made this dua when he had no children and was advanced in age. Despite the odds, he turned to Allah with hope and faith — not asking for just any child, but one who would be righteous and devoted to Allah. Allah answered by blessing him with Isma’il (AS), who would continue the legacy of tawheed.
Rabbi hab lee minaṣ-ṣāliḥīn
“My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.”
(Surah As-Saffat 37:100)
Dua for Trust in Allah
This was said by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) when he was thrown into the fire by his people. Despite the extreme danger, he placed complete trust in Allah’s power and protection. This dua reflects absolute tawakkul (trust in Allah) in the face of hardship. This dua was also made by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to his companions to seek comfort in times of fear.
Hasbunallāhu wa ni‘ma al-wakīl
“Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.”
(Surah Al-Imran 3:173)
Dua for Complete Reliance in Allah in all affairs
This verse highlights Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his followers as exemplars of unwavering faith in the midst of a society immersed in idolatry. Their declaration of disassociation from false worship is paired with a heartfelt du’a affirming three core principles: complete reliance on Allah, sincere repentance, and acknowledgment that all creation ultimately returns to Him. These words embody the essence of submission, showing that true faith is rooted in trust, accountability, and hope in Allah—especially during times of trial.
Rabbanaa ‘alaika tawakkalnaa wa ilaika anabnaa wa ilaikal maseer
“Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.”
(Surah Mumtahanah Ayat 4)
Dua for Victory and Protection
This verse continues the du’as of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his companions as they separated from a disbelieving society—not out of hatred, but out of obedience to Allah and a commitment to safeguard their faith in a hostile environment.
Rabbanā Lā Taj`alnā Fitnatan Lilladhīna Kafarū Wa Aghfir Lanā Rabbanā 'Innaka 'Anta l-Azīzu l-Ĥakīm
“Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
(Surah Mumtahanah Ayat 5)
Dua for Allah SWT to Accept Whatever Good You Done
This du’a was made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Isma’il (AS) while raising the Ka'bah’s foundations by Allah’s command. Even in this moment of immense spiritual significance, they remained humble and prayerful.
Rabbana taqabbal minnaa innaka Antas Samee’ul ’Aleem
“Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”
(Surah Baqarah Ayat 127)
Dua To Be Good Muslims in Submission to Allah SWT
This du’a follows immediately after Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Isma’il (AS) began constructing the Ka'bah. While performing this sacred task, they turned to Allah not only for acceptance but for continued guidance and spiritual legacy.
Rabbana waj’alnaa muslimaini laka wa min zurriyyatinaaa ummatam muslimatal laka wa arinaa manaasikanaa wa tub ‘alainaa innaka antat Tawwaabur Raheem
“Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites [of worship] and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.”
(Surah Baqarah Ayat 128)
Duas of Prophet Lut (AS)
Dua for Support or Help against Evil People
This du’a is made by Prophet Lut (AS) as he faces extreme rejection, mockery, and moral corruption from the people of his town.
Rabbi Anşurnī `Alá l-Qawmi l-Mufsidīn
“My Lord, support me against the corrupting people.”
(Surah Ankabut Ayat 30)
Dua for Protection for Self and Family
This du’a is made by Prophet Lut (AS) during a moment of heightened desperation and danger. He had been warning his people against their persistent immoral acts and rebellion against Allah, but they continued to reject his message and even threatened to expel him. This du’a highlights a prophet’s concern for his household and his awareness of the imminent divine justice.
Rabbi najjjinee wa ahlee mimmaa ya’maloon
“My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do.”
(Surah Ash-Shu’ara Ayat 169)
Dua of Prophet Yaqub (AS)
Dua to deal with Grief
This du’a is spoken by Prophet Yaqub (AS) after enduring years of grief over the loss of his beloved son, Yusuf (AS). Despite the passage of time and deep sorrow, he maintains faith in Allah, choosing to express his pain only to Him. In the end, Allah answered the dua and exceeded Prophet Yaqub’s expectations.
'Innamā 'Ashkū Baththī Wa Ĥuznī 'Ilá llāhi
“I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah.”
(Surah Yusuf Ayat 86)
Duas of Prophet Yusuf (AS)
Dua for Protection, to die as a Muslim and Join the Righteous
This du’a is made by Prophet Yusuf (AS) at the height of his success and authority in Egypt. After enduring years of hardship—being betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned—he was finally reunited with his family and recognized for his wisdom and leadership. Yet, instead of basking in worldly success, he turns to Allah with humility:
فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
Fāţira s-Samāwāti Wa l-'Arđi 'Anta Wa Līyi Fī d-Dunyā Wa l-'Ākhirati Tawaffanī Muslimāan Wa 'Alĥiqnī Biş-Şāliĥīna
“You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.”
(Surah Yusuf Ayat 101)
Dua to avoid Sinning (such as Zina, Lust, Temptations etc.)
This du’a is made by Prophet Yusuf (AS) when he is being relentlessly tempted by the wife of the Egyptian minister (and other women) who tried to seduce him. Despite his physical beauty and isolation, he chooses to uphold his chastity and obedience to Allah over giving in to sin.
rabbis sijnu ahabbu ilaiya mimma yad’oo naneee ‘ilaihi wa illaa tasrif ‘annee kaidahunna asbu ilaihinna wa akum minal jaahileen
“My Lord, prison is more to my liking than that to which they invite me. And if You do not avert from me their plan, I might incline toward them and [thus] be of the ignorant.”
(Surah Yusuf Ayat 33)
Dua of Prophet Ayub (AS)
Dua for Suffering and Illness
This heartfelt dua was made by Prophet Ayyub (AS) after experiencing long years of intense suffering. He lost his wealth, health, and children, yet he remained patient and unwavering in his faith.
[Rabbi] Annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen
“[My Lord,] Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
(Surah Anbiya Ayat 83)
Duas of Prophet Shuaib (AS)
Dua for Protection against Oppression
This du’a is made by Prophet Shuaib (AS) during his mission to the people of Madyan, who were corrupt in trade and denied his message. After reasoning with them extensively, the people threatened to expel him and his followers unless they returned to their old ways. This du’a is a powerful reminder for believers to seek justice through Allah, especially when faced with oppression, falsehood, or moral pressure from society.
Rabbana iftah baynana wabayna qawmina bilhaqqiwaanta khayru alfatiheen
“Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision.”
(Surah Al-A’raf Ayat 89)
Dua for Success and Guidance
This statement comes from Prophet Shuaib (AS) as he addresses his people, the people of Madyan, who were known for dishonest business practices and arrogance. After calling them to righteousness and fair dealings, he was mocked and rejected.
Prophet Shuaib’s (AS) dua teaches believers to root their intentions, actions, and outcomes in tawakkul (trust in Allah), especially when facing resistance while standing for truth.
Wa Mā Tawfīqī 'Illā Billāhi `Alayhi Tawakkaltu Wa 'Ilayhi 'Unīb
“And my success is not but through Allah. Upon him I have relied, and to Him I return.”
(Surah Hud Ayat 88)
Duas of Prophet Musa (AS)
Dua for Confidence and Public Speaking
These verses capture the du’a of Prophet Musa (AS) when he was commanded by Allah to confront Pharaoh, one of the most powerful and oppressive rulers of his time. Musa (AS) expressed humility and concern over the magnitude of the mission, especially given his speech difficulty.
Rabbish rah lee sadree Wa yassir leee amree Wahlul ‘uqdatan milli saanee Yafqahoo qawlee
“My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] And ease for me my task And untie the knot from my tongue That they may understand my speech.”
(Surah Ta-Ha Ayat 25-28)
Dua for Forgiveness
This du’a was made by Prophet Musa (AS) after he inadvertently struck an Egyptian man while trying to stop a fight between him and an Israelite. The man died as a result, and Musa (AS) recognized that he had made a grave mistake. Fearing the consequences of his actions, he immediately turned to Allah in repentance.
Rabbi innee zalamtu nafsee faghfir lee
“My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me.”
(Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 16)
Dua for Protection from Evil People
This du’a was made by Prophet Musa (AS) after he fled from Egypt to escape the wrath of Pharaoh’s soldiers. Having accidentally killed an Egyptian man while trying to stop a fight, Musa (AS) feared retribution and decided to leave the city. As he traveled, he sought refuge in a new land, and this du’a was a plea for protection from the unjust and oppressive people.
Rabbi najjinee minal qawmiz zaalimeen
“My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.”
(Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 21)
Dua for Success, Marriage and Goodness
After fleeing Egypt, exhausted and alone as a fugitive on the run in Madyan, Prophet Musa (AS) saw two women struggling at a well. He helped them — expecting nothing in return. Then, whilst under a tree, he made a simple, heartfelt dua to Allah — with no demands, no specifics. Allah answered that dua and gave Prophet Musa (AS) more than he asked for: Food, a home, marriage and family, a job and eventually prophethood.
Rabbi innee limaaa anzalta ilaiya min khairin faqeer
“My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.”
(Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 24)
Dua for Forgiveness and Mercy
This dua was made by Prophet Musa (AS) after the Israelites worshiped the golden calf in his absence. Prophet Harun (AS)had tried to restrain the people but was overpowered and ignored. When Musa (AS) returned and witnessed the transgression, he became angry but later turned to Allah with humility and sought forgiveness—not only for himself but also for his brother, Prophet Harun (AS).
Rabbighfirli wa li akhi wa adkhilnaa fee rahmatika wa Anta arhamur rahimeen
“My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful.”
(Surah Al A’raf Ayat 151)
Dua for Patience (Sabr) and to Die as a Muslim
This dua was made by the magicians of Pharaoh's court after they witnessed the truth of Prophet Musa’s (AS)message and believed in Allah. Despite Pharaoh’s threats to crucify them for abandoning their loyalty to him, they remained resolute in faith, eventually dying as faithful martyrs.
Rabbanā 'Afrigh `Alaynā Şabrāan Wa Tawaffanā Muslimīna
“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].”
(Surah Al-A’raf Ayat 126)
Dua for Protection, Forgiveness and Mercy
This du’a was made by Prophet Musa (AS) in regards to his people, the Israelites, after they had repeatedly disobeyed Allah, even after receiving His signs and guidance. When they suffered from a series of calamities as a result of their transgressions, Musa (AS) interceded on their behalf, pleading for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy.
'Anta Walīyunā Fāghfir Lanā Wa Arĥamnā Wa 'Anta Khayru l-Ghāfirīna
“You (are) our Protector so forgive us and have mercy upon us and You (are) Best (of) Forgivers”
(Surah Al-A’raf Ayat 155)
Duas of Prophet Dawud (AS)
Dua for Patience, Steadfastness and Victory
This du'a was recited by the faithful soldiers of King Talut (Saul) as they stood before the battle against Jalut (Goliath)and his forces. The army had been greatly reduced in number due to a divine test, and only the most sincere believers remained.
Soon after this dua was made, Prophet Dawud (AS) — then a young man in the army — stepped forward to challenge Jalut (Goliath) and slew him by Allah’s will. This marked his rise as a divinely favored leader and prophet.
Rabbanā 'Afrigh Alaynā Şabrāan Wa Thabbit 'Aqdāmanā Wa Anşurnā Alá l-Qawmi l-Kāfirīn
“Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 250)
Dua for Allah SWT’s Love
This heartfelt supplication is attributed to Prophet Dawud (AS), who is described in the Quran as a man of deep devotion, sincere repentance, and constant remembrance of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) taught this dua, highlighting its deep spiritual roots and linking it to Prophet Dawud’s (AS) legacy of love and closeness to Allah.
Allahumma inni asaluka hubbaka wa hubba may yuhibbuka wal ‘amalaladhi yuballighuni hubbak.
…“O Allah I ask You for Your love and the love of those that love You and all of those actions that would bring me closer to being loved by you.”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3490)
Duas of Prophet Sulaiman (AS)
Dua for Gratitude, To Do Good Deeds and Allah SWT’s mercy
This dua was made by Prophet Sulaiman (AS) after witnessing an extraordinary event: he understood the speech of an ant warning its colony to avoid harm from his approaching army. This incident reminded him of Allah’s immense favors—the gift of understanding animals, prophetic wisdom, and kingship.
For believers today, this dua encourages gratitude, humility in success, and a desire to use one’s blessings in ways that please Allah and bring one closer to His mercy.
Rabbi awzi’nee an ashkura ni’mata kal lateee an’amta ‘alaiya wa ‘alaa waalidaiya wa an a’mala saalihan tardaahu wa adkhilnee birahmatika fee ‘ibaadikas saaliheen
“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.”
(Surah Naml Ayat 19)
Dua for Forgiveness, Power and Wealth
This dua was made by Prophet Sulaiman (AS) after he was tested and repented to Allah for an earlier shortcoming. Some narrations mention he became momentarily distracted from his worship due to his love of fine horses, and he turned to Allah seeking forgiveness.
In this powerful moment, Prophet Sulaiman (AS) asked Allah not only for forgiveness, but also for a unique and unmatched kingdom, one that no one else would ever possess after him.

Dua of Prophet Yunus (AS)
Dua for Forgiveness and Relief from Hardships
This heartfelt du’a was made by Prophet Yunus (AS) while he was in the belly of the great fish. He had left his people prematurely, frustrated by their rejection of his message, and boarded a ship. When a storm hit, he was thrown overboard and swallowed by the fish as a consequence of his action.
Inside the darkness—of the sea, the night, and the creature—Prophet Yunus sincerely repented, recognizing his mistake.
Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā 'Anta Subĥānaka 'Innī Kuntu Mina ž-Žālimīn
